LUXE PR EXPANDS CLIENT MARKET REACH TO NEW YORK CITY.
AUSTIN, Texas, February 27th
It’s going to be a Hollywood night in Austin as aGLIFF kicks off its 2nd Annual Red Carpet Gala, A Live Telecast of The Oscars on Sunday Feb. 27. The event, voted “Best Glam Gay Party” of 2010, kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with red carpet and champagne reception at Austin Studios’ Stage 5, 1901 East 51st Street.
Expect more than a viewing party. In true Hollywood fashion, arriving guests, encouraged to dress in their best Oscar glam attire, will walk the red carpet, pose for photographers and take part in on-the-spot interviews. Austin’s outspoken fashion and gossip diva Rebecca Havemeyer will share her colorful observations as well. YNN’s meteorologist Rich Segal serves as the evenings emcee.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a seated dinner, which is served at 7p.m. The televised Academy Awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.
“The Red Carpet Gala is aGLIFF's premiere fund raising gala, but it is first and foremost the most glamorous party of 2011. This year we are excited to partner with the Austin Film Society to host the party at Austin Studios. What better place to have a party celebrating film than in a place where they make film? It's a natural fit. We hope that film lovers will come out to enjoy a night filled with old Hollywood glamour and support the oldest and largest LGBT film festival in the Southwest, aGLIFF.”-Jake Gonzales, Interim Director.
Havemayer, Segal and honorary chairman Kitty Murry and Scott Landry are available for interviews.

The Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival was founded in 1987 and has grown tremendously in size and scope from a short four-day run of four films primarily focused on coming out and AIDS to a multimedia event with over 150 films depicting myriad issues across cultures, race, immigration status, class, gender identity and expression, age, and region. The festival has expanded in purpose over the past 24 years to combine entertainment with community outreach and education and conducts year-round programming and community projects.
This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division and by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
